Frequently Asked Questions

Does a vehicle wrap cause damage to the paintwork?

The wrap itself should not cause damage to good paintwork, if applied properly, though care must be taken with any vehicle that has been repaired, as the application or removal of the wrap, could possibly lift paint in areas of repair.

Caution and great skill are also required in the trimming of the wrap, to reduce the chance of damage to paint whilst applying and trimming.

What vehicles can be wrapped?

Most vehicles could potentially be wrapped, the vinyls used are very pliable.

Though, the more curved they are, the more complex they are and therefore more costly.

Send us an image and we will advise you accordingly.

Can vehicle wraps be removed?

Yes, they can, it may well leave adhesive residue, which can be readily removed with certain solvents, though caution must be applied when vehicles may have been repaired or painted, as stated previously.

What is a part vehicle wrap?

Where only certain parts of the vehicle are covered with vinyl, this is usually more applicable to commercial vehicles being used for advertising purposes.

Can wraps and graphics be applied to the windows?

Yes, with obvious restrictions on cab and windscreens.

Solid vinyls will obscure the view completely, whilst dot vison will allow a good element of one-way vision from inside, with an image printed to the outer, as on Taxi rear windows but again restrictions will apply to printed panels being applied to windows required for driver vision.

How long does a vehicle wrap take?

A full wrap could take between 1-2 weeks depending on the size and complexity of the vehicle.

Do I need to inform my insurance and DVLA after a vehicle wrap?

This will depend on your insurance company, but most are now taking the view that a full or partial wrap is a ‘modification’ and therefore your insurance company should be informed. The reason being it will increase the cost of any repair should the vehicle be involved in an accident.

The DVLA should of course be informed of a change of colour if a vehicle is wrapped for that reason.
